Wordful Wednesday - New Barn Residents

It's spring time at the barn and that means it's baby horse time!

As luck would have it this year, all three babies are brown and white paints. Thus, it looks like the photos are of the same foal but actually they are all different. One of the mares did not make it so her baby has been hand fed since birth - she's pretty sweet.

So here you have it - the new barn residents...

Here's BlackBerry, my horse, looking on and hoping another carrot will make its way over to her. She might be used next year as a surrogate mare - meaning she would carry a foal for another mare. She's already been a mom once and she is always interested in the babies at the barn. If you or anyone you know has ever done horse surrogates, please let me know. We are in the research stage.

Happy Wordful Wednesday!!!

I love horses! My cousins had them growing up and we always road. I haven't been on a horse in many, many years.

I had no idea this was a part of your life. So interesting and cool. I love horses - although I admit I have never really had one as a part of my life.
