This past weekend was all about family visits and T Rex's birthday celebration. I told you we are spacing it out over a couple weeks! Since the family was in town, we went ahead with a party and an early Thanksgiving dinner.
Here are some highlights from the weekend...
On Friday, T Rex and I went over to my sister's house. My mom has been staying there helping while my brother-in-law has been traveling. This was also where my dad and stepmom stayed - bless my sister! But all was well and everyone got along nicely. In fact, my mom and stepmom are a lot alike and ended up going shopping together and hanging out. Kind of weird to me, but if they are fine with it, why shouldn't I be, right?
On that Friday visit, T Rex got some quality time with his Grandpa A and Auntie J.
T Rex had to show Grandpa A (my dad) how to assemble Mr. Potato Head.

Saturday brought the birthday celebration...
Grandma and Grandpa N (T Rex Dad's folks) are in Arizona enjoying the warm weather but they did send this for T Rex's birthday...
T Rex did not like being the center of attention during the birthday song and insisted "Nan" hold his hand. And, of course, he would not eat the cupcake.
T Rex absolutely LOVED his birthday banner. I did not need to do anything else! What can I say? He LOVES letters!
All in all, a lovely and very full, busy weekend. Glad it came but also glad it's over. Does that make sense? And a special thank you to everyone who made T Rex's birthday extra special by being present at his gathering.

Looks like everyone had a great time. I am hosting Thanksgiving this year. It will be my first time and I am so nervous. I don't do the party thing well (especially food) so we shall see how it goes.
First of all, happy birthday to T-Rex! Hard to believe he is turning 2! And I've been behind on your blog due to a blogging hiatus but I read your post about T-Rex having to get glasses. I totally understand why you would be upset. That is a lot for him to have to go through and of course you want your child to not have any problems ever. I had to start wearing glasses in 1st grade and I always felt weird about it but you end up getting used to it. And I'm sure when he is older, he can get contact lenses or something -- they have so many options nowawdays.
I was stopping by to tell you that you were one of the winners of my 1 Year Blogiversary Giveaway. You won the "52 Activities for You and Your Baby" cards. If you will e-mail me your mailing address, I'll get the cards in the mail to you within the next week or two. My e-mail address is jfligster (at) gmail (dot) com.
Jenners!
This makes perfect sense to me. I too dread family gatherings. I wish I didn't but I do. I love the tricycle! Last year it took a lot of convincing for Deaglan to even try his cupcake. We'll see about this year.
