Siblings...

When I was pregnant, T Rex was already a fabulous big brother. He always understood there was a baby in my tummy and that was "Baby Sister". And he knew when she came home she was no longer in my tummy and stopped asking about the baby in my tummy because he knew his baby sister had come out. Pretty amazing for a 2 year old!

I took this photo from my hospital room when the boys came to the hospital to take Little Girl and me home. It was at this moment that I considered maybe T Rex knew his sister in a life before this one.

He continues to be extremely protective of Baby Sister and gets quite concerned if she is out of sight - you should have heard his protesting when I took her to her first pediatrician appointment and he did not get to go - he was not unhappy that I was leaving but that Baby Sister was leaving.

Every morning she gets snuggles and kisses before me! He is so gentle and kind to her showing no jealousy. And Little Girl looks at him with such adoration and fascination that I've never seen in a newborn.

I know this sounds weird to some folks and you can think T Rex Mom has fallen off her rocker but if you could see these two kids together you'd see what I mean.

T Rex going to great measures to check on his Baby Sister.

This is what he saw:

I was so concerned about another baby taking time away from T Rex. But now I know that providing him with his beloved Baby Sister is worth everything!

That picture with them walking out of the hospital is so touching. I love watching my kids together. You're so right about them having to know one another before. When you have a child you think it's impossible to have your heart be happier. But, when I see my kids together I swear my heart will burst. I'm so happy you're enjoying seeing them together so much. What a wonderful time of your life!

That is so great how well he has bonded with her. Children this young don't always do so well with this type of change. I don't think my little one would handle sharing his mommy with anyone else. He gets very upset anytime I hold another baby or child. He doesn't do this with his older brother but his older brother is also past the age and size where I can hold him.

Be so thankful for this wonderful bond that they have.

I don't think your off your rocker at all! I think anything is possible for sure, why not knowing each other before this life?
My Middle daughter used to say all the time, "Mommy, remember when I was the mom and you were the kid?" Then proceed to tell me how things were...weirdness.
But no, I think its wonderful that there is a strong bond already! And your children are beautiful by the way!

what a cute post! And I don't think you're off your rocker...AT ALL!

It is so nice when older siblings totally accept a new baby without any reservations or jealousy. I now KNOW that is why it took us so long to get pregnant this time. Myles just wasn't ready until now.

Your kids are adorable. Glad you are well.

Other than the fear I felt when seeing T-Rex balancing like that ... I think this is wonderful and sweet and so moving!!! You've been blessed! But just wait until she wants his toys ... we'll see what happens then!

And I sense you're feeling a little left out!!! : )

It's so lovely to see T-Rex's love and affection for his little sister. They are going to a lifelong bond of love and friendship. The pictures are great! You have a home full of love. Your kids are going to have so much fun and happiness growing up with you and your husband. Enjoy all these precious moments. Hope you're feeling well. Are you getting the chance to rest once in a while?

How sweet. My kids have always loved each other from the get go too and it amazes me that they can overcome feelings of jealously, etc. b/c they love their sibling so much.

This is so good to hear! I got goosebumps when you wrote that maybe they knew each other in another life.
