Building our First Frosty...

This morning, we woke to this...

T Rex has been asking and asking to make a snowman and today he got his wish. While Bebe Sister napped in the warmth of her bed, T Rex and I suited up in his new snow gear and went outside to select just the perfect snow balls to build our Frosty. Actually, neither of us has ever made a snowman so it was a first for both of us.

Here is the process we followed...

What do you think of our finished product? He's not very fancy, not like some of the others going up around the neighborhood. But he's our first Frosty, and that means the world to us.

Poor T Rex Dad was stuck, literally, at work so he just gets to enjoy the photos while we hope by day's end he'll be able to get home and meet Frosty in person.

A few other fun things associated with waking to 6-9 inches of snow...

Footprints in the snow:
T Rex's boot prints

Anya's paw prints

Running in the snow:
T Rex's new snow boots are so comfortable he can easily run in snow and ice.

Anya also decided to get into the running action. We like to joke that when it snows she's in full camouflage - can you see her?

Do you remember your first snowman? Or first snow? Or have a memorable snow experience? I'd love to hear about it.

Oh that is a lot of snow. It is snowing here today, yesterday was rain and today is snow. Not really sticking all that well but it is slowly starting to and it is coming down good. Not my favorite things. Frosty is very cool, my boys can't wait for enough snow to make frosty. Actually they love to go sledding.
When Luke was 2 years old we had a huge snow storm about 3 days before Christmas. Everything, everywhere was shut down we had so much snow. We could not open our screen door on our front porch because the snow was so deep in front of the door. On of my favorite photos of Luke has him on our front porch standing in front of the shoveled out snow that was twice as high as he was. I remember actually considering driving to work that morning. So glad I didn't because cars that got onto the interstate that day had to be rescued by snowmobile as they just couldn't get through.

That is a fine snowman for a couple of newbies! This year I'm kind of looking forward to the snow because like T Rex, Deaglan is a lot more mobile and he will love the snow. Hope DAD makes it home safely!

We had so much rain here today!! I wish I had that winter wonderland outside my window. Me and the kids both love making snowmen. Tell T-Rex that his snowman ROCKS!!

Awe! How fun!
That is one handsome snowman!

I love how the little puppy almost blends in except for those dark eyes peeking out! Cute pictures!

I don't know about my first snow, but when I moved to Cedar after high school, I was so excited for the first snow. I called my mom and told her about how beautiful it was and how I made snowmen and all that. As the week went on it became not so fun to scrape the cars and let them heat up for 30 min., or walk through the mountains of snow because they plowed right behind my apartment or DRIVE in the stuff! Needlesss to say, by the end of that first week I was calling home crying to my mom that I wanted to move back!

I can't wait to take the boys to the snow this year, being beach babies I am sure they won't be too fond of it to start!

Frosty came out great!!! And you had a lot of raw material to work with (unfortunately). And Anya can barely be seen ... good thing she has a black nose and dark eyes!

Fun... although I'll keep my Sunshine State weather... except that we have a forecast of 36 degrees tonight here! In South Florida, in the orange groves!
My boys have never seen snow and have been asking the last few years to go see it. We have the week off before Christmas... I think we're going to take a road trip and drive 'til we hit snow! Hoping that is in the Smokey Mtns, and not Canada! LOLOL

I do not remember my first snow or first snowman. I wish I did. I have a really bad memory. REALLY BAD!! :)
Your frosty is great! Nice and TALL! And I love how you can BARELY see your doggie Anya! :) She's a cutie!
Enjoy the snow - we are still waiting for our first snow here.
