Weekend Projects and Giveaway...

We have a saying in Idaho. If you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes. Yesterday, within 20 minutes we had a wind storm, sun, hail storm, sun, and then a down pour of rain. Two hours later, the sidewalks were dry and the sun was shining again. This is spring in Idaho! Or at least the beginning of it since it is not officially spring yet.

With that being said, all this crazy weather has inspired more sewing projects - along with the GAP coupon I used on Friday.

The shirt is from Baby Gap - I had a 30% off coupon. They had a pair of shorts there very similar to these but they were $24. Even with the coupon, I can make them cheaper than that!

Complete outfit - total cost $10

The material was so charming that I had to make a pair of pants too!

Then there was the left over Elmo material. Since I already had a template for shorts, I went ahead and made a pair of Elmo shorts.

With the left overs of the left overs, I pulled together this lightweight blanket - perfect for spring nights!

Now that you've seen the projects, I've decided to have my very first giveaway.

Giveaway rules: For every comment you leave on this blog or T Rex Tales (starting with yesterday's postings), I will give you one chance to win a custom, handmade item in the fashion of any of the above items (toddler pants, toddler shorts, or spring blanket). If you currently are or become a follower of either of the blogs, I will double your chances of winning. You can comment as much as you want per posting but only one per person per posting counts. Giveaway closes Wednesday, March 25th. I will post the winner on Thursday, March 26th on T Rex Mom and Dad Tales.

Here are some of the fabrics that are available. But if you want something else, I can check my fabric stockpile to see what is available (remember I mentioned I have a fabric addiction? And a 50% off coupon for Joann's Fabrics!).

By the way, I caught Thomas doing this while I was working on my projects. Yes, he figured out a way to turn the lights on and off without our help.

I hope to hear from you soon...

Wow, you are talented :) I wish I could sew like that. Everything came out so cute :) Looks like Thomas is also one "crafty" little guy when it comes to getting to the light switch :)

Thomas knows how to use his noggin to get what he wants. Better watch out! :)

Nice shorts!

I love the Daddy proof-ness (is that a word?) with the pocket. What a cute idea.
